Freezing weather covers most of central Alabama

Temmperatures reached the 20’s over about 50% of the area by 9 pm.

Cold air surging southward from Tennessee.

Strong north winds will erase any memories of Thursday’s mildness by morning.

Saturday morning’s lows will challenge for the lowest of the season so far.

Temperatures are heading up.
