Broken Wrist: Day 5

Today is very exciting.

I went to the Orthopedist at Saint Francis.  He took the hot, bulky ace wrap splint off my arm and replaced it with this very stylish splint.

I’m very excited about this for a number of reasons:

1.  I can now move my fingers.  Now, I can actually type with two hands.

2. I don’t have the “club hand” like I had before.

3. I don’t have to wrap my arm in a garbage bag everytime I take a shower.  The splint comes off.  (I must say, there was a definite odor emitting from my arm when we removed the ace wrap for the first time in five days.  It wasn’t pleasant.  But it did feal nice to run cold water over my arm and wash it with soap.)

I’ll have the pleasure of wearing this splint for the next month or so.
