DOTHAN EAGLE: Trojans remember sting of loss.
That talks about last year’s game with FAU a little. The first couple of paragraphs might be confusing for some, as yes I do know that FAU was on ESPN2 earlier this year at Michigan State, but I don’t believe Troy coaches cared, since they had a game of their own that day.
Also, didn’t mention this in the story, but Troy was out of its routine that day. The normal hotel they stay at in Ozark was overbooked, so they stayed in Enterprise (probably in a nicer hotel). The pregame meal was in a different building on campus, and one that wasn’t air-conditioned. Also, the last straw was the Senior Day festivities.
Larry Blakeney said he was going to do something different on Senior Day than stand there and honor everyone in front of the crowd. He should, as the Trojans are 0-3 on their last 3 home season finales.
No FAU links, although I don’t think Troy is on its mind today.
