On tap for this week

August 17, 2008

Let’s have a Trojan chat Thursday night at 8 p.m. CST. The chat will last an hour using the software I’ve used for the past two scrimmages. If anyone wants to help me moderate this, e-mail me at and I’ll explain more.

I’ll put a reminder box up Wednesday night if you want to sign up for an e-mail reminder.

ALSO, I picked up my Sunday print edition of the Dothan Eagle and come to find out, my sports editor Jon Johnson, has a vote in this year’s Associated Press poll. Come to find out, he didn’t rank Troy, or FAU, or UL-Lafayette, or any Sun Belt team.

I might accept bribes to try to convince him to give Troy a 14th place vote after Week 1. He’s also had a Heisman Trophy vote. Unfortunately, he can’t cast a preseason vote, so the Wes Potter for Heisman campaign isn’t off to a good start before it officially ends the first time a player from the Football Bowl Subdivision gains a yard in the UTEP@Buffalo game, which opens the 2008 college football season 30 minutes before Troy’s tilt with MTSU (and several other games) at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28.
