Monday update, Part 1

Troy is preparing for its Saturday game against FIU without center Danny Franks. The junior is questionable after a high ankle sprain suffered against Florida Atlantic.
Franks was injured when an FAU defensive lineman tackled running back DuJuan Harris as Harris ran through a hole with Franks on the left. Franks’ right leg was rolled up under the collison.
“Luckily it was low and not high,” offensive line coach John Schlarman said. “If he had been hit in the knee, he’d be done.”
Junior Steven Adams, the starter at right guard, moved to center and Wes Potter came in at right guard. Coaches say the hopes are Franks will be back at practice Wednesday.
He’s practiced a lot at center and gotten game reps at center,” Schlarman said. “He’s got to be consistent with his snaps, and I think he’ll do a fine job. It’s only a problem if you make it a problem. Our guys believe in each other in the fact that if one guy goes down, another guy has to step up.”
QB battle still ongoing: Offensive coordinator Neal Brown said the quarterback battle between Tanner Jones and Levi Brown is still ongoing. The team practices at 6 p.m. tonight and a decision could be made Tuesday. The two are battling after starter Jamie Hampton tore knee ligaments against FAU and is lost for the season.
