Here’s an AJC story on the coaches poll.

Larry Blakeney had Hawaii in his top 10. If he and every other coach had followed Dennis Franchione’s model and had Hawaii at 22, they might not be in the BCS because this poll has a lot to do with it.
Personally, I think Hawaii’s not at all a BCS-caliber team, so we’ll just leave it at that. At least last year Boise State beat an Oregon State team with a lot of wins and a win over USC.
