All signs might be pointing to Levi

October 15, 2008

So I made a rare midweek practice appearance, since they are open. Obviously this morning offensive coordinator Neal Brown said no announcement would be made, though he knew what they were going to do. DISCLAIMER - this post is based on opinion and my two eyes, which I’ve never claimed are good.

True freshman Dan Parker is getting work, too, but I think they’re just preparing in case real disaster hits. Or, maybe they really want to use him. He’ll definitely dress for every game from here on out. Jerrel Jernigan will take some snaps as well to bring the different element into the mix. I’d expect to see a lot of creativity. Should be an interesting game.

Now, this is all observation talk, but it makes me think Levi Brown could start. It’s a given that Jernigan will take some snaps as well.

Center Danny Franks isn’t practicing today. He’s doubtful for Saturday. Jamie Hampton is on the field, big brace on his left knee and all. He’s definitely not in uniform, though.

The team is practicing in shoulder pads, helmets and shorts.

Also, there won’t be a The Huddle: Troy edition this week, but I figured you guys would rather me find out who’s going to take snaps from center.

Headed to ground level. Maybe I can get some real stuff.
