Siegelman’s money woes
MONTGOMERY, Ala.—Wednesday morning’s pre-sentencing proceedings began at 8:30 a.m. by addressing the issue of former Gov. Don Siegelman’s financial issues.
On Tuesday, it was reported that the $2.3 million income he reported last year was now an incorrect figure. According to his attorneys, his accounts and asset deductions from accounts are related to “on going expenses” and that they were waiting on Siegelman’s accountants in order to obtain an updated version of the requested information.
Fuller instructed Siegelman’s attorneys to make a truthful and accurate representation of his financial standing to the court.
“Whatever sentence I could fashion could include a fine and the pre-sentencing report will be based on that. I don’t want it to exceed (his) resources,” he said.
