Visit Stone Mountain Park and watch the World’s Largest Laser Light Spectacular, a nightly event during the warm months of the year. Another seasonal event is the Summit Skyride, a high-speed Swiss cable car that hangs 825 feet above the ground. Kids will enjoy the Treehouse Challenge, where the boys are pitted against the girls and they compete for bragging rights in over 100 interactive games. If you call ahead of time, groups can also enjoy Ride the Duck tours, an amphibious sightseeing experience. The Duck is a 1940s Army vehicle that easily covers both land and water! Other attractions include a daily Carillon Concert, and the Confederate Hall — a historical, interactive exhibit that demonstrates the fascinating evolution of the ecology and geology of Stone Mountain Park. Outdoor lovers will enjoy playing golf at the base of the mountain or hiking the 15 miles of trails, including the 1.3-mile trail that leads to the top of the mountain. The Park is also ideal for fishing, camping, biking and jogging.
