Celebrate the large-scale artwork that tells the history of the Wiregrass region at the Wiregrass Festival of Murals in Dothan, a.k.a. “Alabama’s Mural City.” Murals include titles such as Cotton, Chief Eufaula, and Women of the Wiregrass. The first mural was painted in 1992 and currently the 19th mural is under completion. The Mural Festival takes place from Tuesday through Saturday during the first week of May. Each evening of the Festival features a cultural event such as live jazz music and gospel singing. The Festival culminates in an all-day street party on Saturday.
