Each March, see the nation’s best cowgirls and cowboys complete in the biggest rodeo east of the Mississippi at the Southeastern Livestock Exposition and Rodeo in Montgomery. The rodeo was first held in 1958 and has featured the Professional Rodeo and Cowboys Association “Stock Contractor of the Year” and “Act of the Year.” Watch as world-champion cowboys and cowgirls compete in barrel racing, bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, and bareback and saddleback bronc-riding events. The rodeo features some of the top rough-stock animals in the business. Another highlight of the 50-year-old event is the crowning of a rodeo queen. Plus, on the final day of the rodeo, kids can participate in a Western Festival that features pony rides, roping lessons, and stick-horse barrel racing.
