The Lambert Powell Meat Lab is a meat market where customers can purchase meats such as fresh beef, fresh pork, and a wide variety of smoked and processed meats, from country-cured bacon and kielbasa to summer sausage and smoked hams. The meat market’s prices are low because all products come from animals that are raised right here in Lee County by the students in the department of Animal Science in the Auburn University College of Agriculture. Proceeds for the sale of the meat go toward teaching and agricultural programs at the University. The Market is located at 500 Shug Jordan Parkway, about 1/4 mile south of the intersection of Shug Jordan Parkway and Wire Road. The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
