No, the game wasn’t historical, in terms of play. Actually, it was boring. A typical Auburn football game. But it was effective.
Auburn won. And that’s the record. This is the first time in the history of the rivalry Auburn has won six consecutive games against Alabama.
Brandon Cox is only the second starting quarterback to finish his career against Alabama 3-0. Jason Campbell was the other.

For my money, the game ball goes to Cox. He wasn’t great, but he was solid. And he’s nails. Seriously, the kid is indestructible.

Now, we wait to see where Auburn will play its bowl game. Oh, and if Tommy Tuberville will stay in Auburn or head somewhere else.

Two really bad sacks right there for Brandon Cox and the Tigers. In field-goal range, Cox takes two sacks pushing Auburn out of Wes Bryrum’s range and forcing a punt, which Ryan Shoemaker shanked.

The first sack was on Cox. He should have thrown it away. The second, well, even Tim Tebow would have taken a seat on that with Simeon Castille flying in there.

Auburn has put together solid drives on all three possessions, but, like always, protection fails or Cox makes a bad read and the drive stalls.

Auburn looked very impressive on its first drive of the game. Brandon Cox was doing what he does best: Checking the offense into the right playcall.
It worked out on a couple running plays, and now Auburn leads 7-0 after a Ben Tate touchdowns.

I liked Tommy Tuberville’s decision to go for it on fourth down. This is the Iron Bowl. If you need an inch, you better be able to get it or you don’t deserve it.

Auburn got it.

I’m telling you, if either team gets down by two touchdowns, the other team won’t be able to come back. I’m just saying.

And Auburn’s halfway there.
