Auburn’s dominating the line of scrimmage. In the SEC, that’ll win you some ballgames.
After the first quarter, Auburn has 108 total yards, Ole Miss has 8. Eight!
Also, it says the Tigers have 39 passing yards, but I can’t remember Brandon Cox throwing more than one pass. Brad Lester and Ben Tate are moving the sticks and even Carl Stewart has found some room to run.
Plus, AU’s defense is playing as vicious as it has all season.
This one’s going to be over soon. Auburn’s just too fast and physical for Colonel Reb.

Mississippi State is going to a bowl game. Book it. After dominating Kentucky today, Miss. State is going to a bowl. All they have to do is win one more game—and that’s going to be against Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.
Sylvester Croom saved his job and just might get a raise.
By the way, Auburn plays Ole Miss in about 15 minutes. Don’t know if you knew that or not.
But that’s what I’m here for.
By the way, again, this isn’t a very vocal Jordan-Hare Stadium crowd. It’s a full stadium, but not very loud ...
Seat 80 is warm and we’re ready to go. Enjoy.

I’ve received a lot of emails and calls about the tie-breaker scenario for the SEC West and if Auburn still has a chance to get to Atlanta and the SEC championship game.
The answer, in short, is yes. It’s possible. Mathematically. Realistically, no. I’m just saying.
Here’s how the SEC divisional tie-breakers work. First it goes head to head.
Now, this is the scenario everyone is asking about. Say Auburn wins out, it’ll finish at 6-2 in the SEC. Say LSU loses to Alabama, but wins the rest of its games, it’ll finish 6-2. Say Alabama wins its next two games (beating LSU) but loses to Auburn. The Tide will also be 6-2.
Head-to-head, they all have the same record and beat a team that beat the other team. Confused? I’m just getting started.
So you have to go to the second tie-breaker ... and that’s what each team did in its division .. ie, division record. That is the killer for AU. Since both it its conference losses, assuming this scenario works out, would be to SEC West teams (Miss. State and LSU).
If that’s the case, then Alabama would win the SEC West, because it beat LSU head-to-head.
So, the only way Auburn has a chance is that if LSU loses twice, with one of those losses being to LSU, and then AU beats Bama in the Iron Bowl. Or, Auburn could make it if both LSU and Alabama lose two of their last three SEC games. But, in every scenario, Auburn has to win out.
Make sense? Here’s the SEC’s tie-breaker, courtesy of http://www.secsports.com:

In the event of a tie for the division championship, the following procedures will be used to break all ties to determine the SEC Football Championship Game representative. All Conference versus Conference Games (both division and non-division) will be counted in the Conference Standings.
A. TWO-TEAM TIE
Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams.
Records of the tied teams within the division.
Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall record (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
Overall record vs. all common non-divisional opponents.
Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game.
B. THREE (OR MORE) TEAM TIE
(Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)
Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
Record of the tied teams within the division.
Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
Overall record vs. non-division teams.
Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.
