Just like old times

Just when you thought it was safe to think football season is over, there’s yet another all-talk, no-proof, rumor-filled coach search out there. Fortunately, unlike Tommy Tuberville’s weeklong nightmare of negotiations and “done deals,“ the Will Muschamp-to-Texas talk should be resolved—one way or another—soon.

How soon? That remains to be seen. But, of course, it wouldn’t be a coach search unless it included an airport stakeout. Fortunately, that’s just what we have today, as a plane from Austin, Texas, is headed to the Auburn-Opelika Robert G. Pitts Airport, due for a 2:46 p.m. arrival. The last airport stakeout, of Tuberville, ended in a farcical getaway scene. There’s no telling how this one will end, but whatever happens, I’ll have an update here. Good times.
