Hello Ms. Lumpkin, I would like to discuss with your interest in regards to becoming involved with GA Underage Drinking Prevention Initiative Coalition and our work related to preventing youth access to alcohol.  Since you would also benefit from a decrease in underage drinking we invite you to join Georgia’s Underage Drinking Prevention Coalition, particularly by assisting us as a member of one of the various committees.  Your expertise in this area would be very helpful and in addition, you and your agency will be credited whenever possible for your involvement in the coalition.

Alcohol use among children and adolescents starts early and increases rapidly with age. A higher percentage of youth aged 12 to 20 use alcohol (29%) than use tobacco (24%) or illicit drugs (14%), making underage drinking a leading public health problem in the United States.  According to a recent survey on underage drinking in Georgia, underage drinking cost the citizens of Georgia $1.5 billion in 2005.  These costs include medical care, work loss, and pain and suffering associated with the multiple problems resulting from the use of alcohol by youth.  This translates to a cost of $1,753 per year for each youth in the state.  Underage drinking is widespread in Georgia.  Approximately 364,000 underage youth in Georgia drink each year, making it more important than ever to begin teaching youth at an early age about the dangers of alcohol.  These shocking statistics parallel the national average, which indicates that underage drinking is the number one substance abuse problem in Georgia.
Because we are concerned about the safety and well-being of the children of Georgia as well as the economic drains that have burdened our state, The Council on Alcohol and Drugs has implemented Georgia’s Underage Drinking Prevention Initiative, a public information and education program sponsored by the Georgia Department of Human Resources.
I hope you will consider being part of the Underage Drinking Prevention Coalition and would appreciate a chance to discuss this program further with you.  Please contact me for more information on how we can begin working together on this issue.

My favorite anime: Fullmetal Alchemist, Princess Tutu, Paranoia Agent, Laputa: Castle in the Sky (and most of Miyazaki’s films), Azumanga Daioh

Volume 4 contains the arrival of two new characters: Sohryu Asuka Langley, and Ryouji Kaji. There are a total of seven chapters in this graphic novel, which seems to be one chapter more than the other collections. The chapters are refered to as ‘stages.’ While it IS based off the anime, there’s actually quite a difference between the two. The manga is more detailed, and does tell things differently, while keeping the basic plot the same.

Is it hard to be that beautiful and well known all over the world? I would like to find out that one day… maybe… who knows if my luck will help me win.
