What we’re working on

As promised on the front page of today’s paper, this Web site is here to give our readers and Web visitors a little peek into what we are working on for tomorrow’s paper. In addition, this site will feature news stories that we find funny or interesting or stories we just want to share. Keep checking back, because we are going to try to update the site several times a day.
What follow are a few things we are working on for tomorrow. If you don’t feel like reading and would rather watch our Web cast. Click play on the box to your right.
* We have city council previews for both Auburn and Opelika. At the Auburn meeting Director of Public Safety Bill James will explain to council members why the city received such low fire insurance ratings (Find our more about the company that sets these ratings, ISO, with this link) and what they are doing to rectify the situation. At the Opelika, council members may vote on an ordinance that will establish a new historic district.
You can find the complete Auburn City Council agenda here and the Opelika City Council agenda by going here
*WRBL News 3’s Jaime Lakin has done a story about the increase in food prices and how it is affecting one local restaurant owner. You can see her report on WRBL tonight and in our newspaper tomorrow morning.
So, are you concerned about how Auburn’s higher ISO rating will affect your homeowners’ insurance? Do you have an opinion about the new historic district in Opelika? Are you a restaurant owner affected by higher food prices? Let us know. Post your comments.
