Sturgis tip number 109 from the 600-page guide
August 01, 2008
This book, which the husband downloaded on the Internet at Sturgis.com, includes an interesting check list of things you might need in Sturgis.
Under personal items, I am reading the word “Freshette.“ In parenthesis is written, “a little device that allows women to pee standing.“ I looked up this little device to see it for myself. Made by the REI camping folks, all 14 women who posted reviews rave about this product. They are the outdoorsy types who engage in bicycling, hiking, hard-core (not trailer) camping. These are women who probably make their own granola and could kill a bear with their bare hands.
Well, take a look for yourself—if this interests you—but I am just not sure how discreetly unzipping my pants and slidding this thing under my underwear could be. I am not sure this little device is all that. And I am NOT anticipating the need to urinate that bad. I could be wrong. Crowds of people, I understand. Shortage of bathrooms. Got it. But come on, a freshette?
Now that’s a gift to buy a woman who has everything.
