The folks at Nationwide RV in Grain Valley, Mo. repair a swaying hitch.
Debbie

Two hours spent at Nationwide RV in Grain Valley, Mo., passed pretty quickly as our hot water heater hose was repaired, our door lock replaced, and some cams were installed on the sway bar.
On that last part, I really have no clue what that means other than the husband will now cease and desist the complaining. Please!
While the shop guys worked, and I understand the owner of this huge lot is also a shop guy himself, anyway, while they were working, we ate their cookies and drank their Cokes. (Thank God we’re back in Coke country!) I learned Willem has one son out in Montana and that Richard takes lots of medications, which he carries around in a plastic bag.
We checked out several live Web cams from Sturgis ... just google those words and there’s a variety to choose from. Things are pretty slow up there right now, so I don’t feel like I am missing anything. I am relaxed and into the adventure that is the journey.
Funny being back up here. When I worked at the Blue Springs Examiner, I covered the town of Grain Valley. I remember how nice and friendly the folks are. I remember how much I loved the summers. I also remember wanting to get back South.
OK, posting a pix of the guys who did the work, and we are soon back on the road again, as Willie would say.
Sturgis: Still a whole buncha miles ....
We are not making great progress miles wise, which is a bit disappointing, but the sun is shinning, the anticipation is building and I’m not at work. So, what have I got to complain about?
We ended up loading my little scooter onto William’s trailer (see picture below). Notice I said “we” did this, but quite frankly, it has nothing to do with me. I was in the hotel when the work got done. That’s the husband, Mark, loading the bike.
We are just crossing over the Missouri River for the second time and made a pit stop at Stuckey’s. Pecan roll anyone?
Sam, the teenager, called with news that some light came on in her car. Luckily, it was just an oil change reminder. Jamie, the step-daughter, called with news that Sid, my little one, thinks Jamie, her step-sister, is being MEAN for making her pick up her room and gather up her school supplies.
“It was all so dramatic,” Jamie said. “She was screaming at me!”
The husband has decided, and I have decided to agree, that we will stop on the outskirts of Kansas City, in Blue Springs, Mo., to get the hose fixed under the sink in the camper. Blue Springs, as you may know, is the home of American Idol winner David Cook. It is also the place I moved from when I came to Dothan in 2000. I got history here, folks. And memories. Sometimes going back is not a bad thing.
Today, the bike traffic is picking up. There were bikers – riding their own – from Kentucky and Tennessee at our hotel, and we’ve seen a few pass. More on trailers.
Heading west, the husband just remarked there is a great deal of “Adult stores” on I-70. At nearly every exit. Totally nude dancing, the signs read. I bet they play bingo here too.
We ain’t in Alabama anymore.
