Downtown Dothan is on the move

July 22, 2008

In today’s paper, Debbie Ingram wrote about how downtown Dothan is working on a comeback. Read it here: 2008 is year of progress for downtown

It sounds like there’s lots of great thing headed downtown, including some new restaurants. Well, I have an itch for new, local places to eat, so I dragged the boyfriend to lunch at Blue Moon Cafe on South Foster Street, which has recently opened.

The restaurant is so neat on the inside. It looks like a little shack on the bayou. I had a shrimp po’boy and Rodney had a bowl of jambalaya (the special for Tuesday) that was full of goodies. The menu is small and simple, but the specialty changes every day. Rodney and I are looking forward to going back on a Thursday to sample Blue Moon’s shrimp etouffee.

Now I’m going to have a hard time deciding where to head downtown for lunch.
