White Potatoes ….YUCK!!

I’m really happy to be at the six-week mark. I have read that it takes 6 weeks to form a habit. Exercise and healthy eating have definitely become a habit. I have also read that within three months of changing a behavior you can start to measure a difference in your life expectancy. At the end of this program I may have actually extended my life span. What a wonderful prize.
My taste for food, like Todd’s has begun to change. We were told in the beginning that the low sodium content in the food would allow us to begin actually tasting the food. I discovered that I do not like white potatoes. For most of my life I have eaten potatoes at least 5 times a week. I used to love mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, and fried potatoes. In the first 5-week food rotation with Healthy Connections, we had white potatoes a few times. I found that if white potatoes are not saturated with salt they are awful. I have no desire to eat them anymore even if I could give them a good salting. Too bad there’s not something in those wonderful meals to make me dislike Diet DP. Yes, I still want one really badly. I’m beginning to think that I will be stuck with that craving for the rest of my life.
