It could be the diet

All,
I still think Healthy connection is a wonderful program and good option for the person trying to ease back into a diet and eating healthy. I also think you could lose a couple of pounds a week. That does not sound like a lot. However, if you look at it over a year that is 100 pounds.
Unfortunately or fortunately I have not been able to use HC much because of my schedule and job. However, I think I am taking in fewer fat calories. And the calories I am taking in are higher in protein and lower in fat. Breakfast is usually a protein bar. Lunch has been a Grilled chicken salad or a Grilled Chicken Sandwich on Wheat bread(no sauce). Afternoon has been fruit. Dinner has been Grilled fish and green vegetables. Occasionally I have thrown in another protein bar or some nuts when I felt like my body neeeded it.
Rick mentioned Non Exercise Physical Activity (NEPA) a while back. I had not heard this term but I think it is important. In addition to the Training I have been getting exercise Umpiring High School baseball and Refereeing Basketball. On Wednesday and Sundays I have been playing Adult Baseball in an over 35 Mens Senior Baseball League. Last year I would get a courtesy runner if I made on base. I would also be heaving out of breath. the other night I actually scored from 2nd base. I just can not describe how much better my quality of life is. I am not kidding. I am in the best Cardio shape in the last 20 years easy. And only after eight weeks.
I actually walk more and take the stairs more often. I think all of this has made a difference in my personal progress.
Karl, I am just really proud of your progress. Not the weight loss which is awesome but your cadio level. Dude you probably added 10 years to your life. Your resting heart rate down from 138 to 78 is just fantastic. Keep up the good work. I look forward to following your continued progress. Especially since you are the only other one sharing actual progress. Good luck.
