I can relate

Beth, I can totally relate about having friends and family “get on board” with us in this endeavour. My six year old son came with me to the gym today. I was a little worried about bringing him thinking he’d be like a bull in a china shop and I wouldn’t be able to get my cardio done. But, he was so impressed with all the weights and machines and kept asking me if I really knew how to do all that stuff. He kept saying “that’s cool.” Since it was a cardio day, he only got to see me on the elliptical. Afterwards, he asked if he could go with me again tomorrow and watch me “do the weight stuff’. I was so encouraged that he was proud of me - what a great feeling. I have also had so many people encouraging me and cheering me on. My friends, Diane, Shannon, Melissa, and Amanda call me daily to check on me and ask about my progress. My neighbor and good friend, Kristi watches my kids all the time for me while I go work out and walks with me whenever I ask her to. My husband is so supportive and compliments me everyday (although he’s not thrilled about the inches lost in my bust) - haha - it’s a man thing. My brothers and dad email and call all the time to cheer me on. I’ve gotten too many emails, phone calls, and text messages to count. The other Birmingham Losers are also a source of encouragement. To know that 9 other people are going through this with me and to read your accomplishments is so awesome. I’m glad we are all able to encourage each other. Everyday I am amazed by the support people have given me. I am so blessed to have such great friends. Many folks have asked if they could post notes of encouragement to our blogs - well you can’t but you can send me emails to encourage me. I will be setting up a new email address just for this journey and I’ll let you all know what it is very soon. Thanks so much for reading.
