Closing in on 40!

Karl Benton

Hey everybody, what a great couple of couple of weeks this has been. I have been somewhat pre-occupied with work, I have had to hit the road a little and missed a few workouts as well as being challenged with meal choices. It has been tempting to order right off the menu without special instructions; but thanks to the meals from Healthy Connections, I now know how much and what I can eat when I am on the road traveling. I also noticed a difference in my stamina once I was back at Greystone FT. The cardio was definitely harder when you have been off for a few days. Last week was an awesome week with Rob at Greystone. We had great workouts which have continued right through this week. We have changed up the exercises themselves as well as the level of weight and repetitions. We have definitely shocked the body. I am as sore now as I was in the first couple of weeks. We completed the fitness e val last week and what an improvement the first 6 weeks has made. The biggest accomplishment I am proud of is taking my resting heart rate from 138 bpm down to 78 bpm. After completing the 3 minute step test ( I did not finish even halfway to begin with) my heart rate at stress was only 120 bpm. This alone has added years on to my life. I am proud and grateful to have Rob and the entire team at Greystone Fitness Together as my coach in changing my health and lifestyle. The push up portion was up as well from 2 to begin with to 30 last week. I increased my bench press by 75 lbs and my flexibility by over 4 inches. I never thought this would have been possible. I know the other contestants see this kind of change, but for everyone else, this type of program really does work and can add years to your life expectancy. I have to film the big video next Monday. I have only seen a few those on the website as well as Dennis’ this week. Everyone seems to be doing great. I have lost 37 lbs so far and will for sure be past 40 by Monday. I have not seen 260 lbs in quite some time. Only one more notch and I get to buy a new belt, 5 inches lost in the waist with 1 more inch to go. I know a new belt is really not that exciting, but for me right now it is a huge reward. Losing the 6 inches around the waist let’s me wear clothes I never thought I would see again. Thanks again to Healthy Connections, Greystone FT and my friends and family for all of their support.I hope everyone has a great weekend and I will talk with you guys next week.
