Auburn soccer signee Katy Frierson was one of 18 players named to the U.S. Under-23 National Team that will travel to Falun, Sweden, today for the 2008 Nordic Cup tournament, being held from July 15-21, U-23 coach Bill Irwin announced Wednesday. 

Three Auburn golfers were named 2008 Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday, marking the first time in school history three student athletes were named to the team.

Former Auburn swimmer and Huntsville native Margaret Hoelzer earned an Olympic berth in her second event Saturday night at the 2008 Olympic Trials as she broke the world record in the 200m backstroke, winning the event with a time of 2:06.09.
