Playing at the Auburn Derby Invitational, the Tiger women’s golf team carded its lowest round of the tournament, coming in with a 6-over-par 294 to finish in fourth place in the three-day event. Auburn’s Candace Schepperle led the team with an even-par 216, finishing fourth overall in the tournament.

Twenty-one Auburn swimmers and divers were named Academic All-Americans by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America while the Tiger women’s team earned All-Academic Team honors, the association announced last week.

Freshman midfielder Katy Frierson was named the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Week following her two-goal performance against South Carolina this past weekend, the conference office announced on Monday.

Katy Frierson added to her already spectacular freshman campaign on Sunday as the Birmingham native scored two goals to lead Auburn to a 2-0 win over South Carolina.

With a total of six events for both men and women, the Auburn swim team returned to the pool Saturday at the War Eagle Invitational.

The Auburn swimming teams officially started their 2008-09 season Friday night as they competed in day one of the War Eagle Invitational at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center.
