Auburn’s Girma Mecheso claimed the men’s individual 8K title and Holly Knight finished as the women’s 6K runner-up Monday at the Southeastern Conference Championship at the Mississippi State Cross Country Course. 

After losing the first two sets of the match, the Auburn volleyball team (6-19, 1-13 SEC) mounted a comeback against in-state rival Alabama (12-10, 5-8 SEC) that nearly pushed the match to five sets, but fell short in the 3-1 (19-25, 23-25, 25-22, 27-29) loss Sunday at the Student Activities Center.
