Tigers pick up another hoops transfer

It’s been a busy week for the Auburn basketball team.
The Tigers said goodbye to 7-foot-1 center Boubacar Sylla on Monday and added Oklahoma transfer Tony Neysmith on Tuesday. On Wednesday, AU picked up another new addition, signing 6-foot-9 forward Francis Aihe from Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Fla.
Aihe averaged 8.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks last season at Santa Fe. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Aihe is one of five newcomers joining the Tigers. Auburn signed guards Frankie Sullivan and Tay Waller and forwards Kenny Gabriel and Johnnie Lett in the early signing period before adding Neysmith on Tuesday and Aihe on Wednesday.
Due to NCAA transfer rules, Neysmith won’t be eligible to play for AU until the 2009-2010 season. The others can play this season.
