Special to the News
The wait is finally over.
Junior pitcher Paul Burnside will make his first start of the 2008 season at 6 p.m. today when Auburn plays host to Samford at Plainsman Park.
Auburn is 23-18 on the year and defeated Samford (23-13) in the first meeting between the two schools this season.
Burnside has pitched in just two games this season, throwing an innings against Samford in the first meeting on March 26 and then going 1 1/3 innings against Georgia State on April 8.
However, today will mark his first start since April 20, 2007 against Alabama — a 12-5 Auburn win.
Tonight is Two Dollar Tuesday where all tickets are just $2. It is also Auburn City Schools night.
