“The surgery went well, and I’m looking forward to a speedy recovery,” Tuberville said. “I am glad that I was able to get the procedure done now before we get into the full swing of the football season.”

In eight seasons at Auburn, Tuberville has guided the Tigers to a 71-29 record and owns a 95-49 mark in 12 years as a head coach.  The 2004 Walter Camp National Coach of the Year, Tuberville has led Auburn to a 33-5 mark over the last three years, including an 11-2 record in 2006 and 17-14 victory over Nebraska at the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.

Auburn opens the 2007 campaign on Sept. 1 against Kansas State at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
