The Auburn softball team will take on the Georgia Bulldogs in midweek doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. today at the UGA Softball Stadium.
Auburn enters the twin bill with a 33-14 overall record and a 9-10 record in the Southeastern Conference. The Bulldogs are 35-16 overall this season and 8-9 in league play.
“We are going to have to come out ready to play against Georgia,” Auburn head coach Tina Deese said. “We had a couple of tough losses this weekend, but we came out Sunday and got after it. We are going to have to take that same approach (today) because Georgia is a good team.”
The Tigers have posted an 11-6 record in road games this season, with the pitching staff recording a 1.43 ERA with 161 strikeouts in 117.1
innings of work in those 17 games. The staff has held teams to a .203 batting average in road games.
The Bulldogs are 26-5 at home this season and lead the overall series against the Tigers with a 20-10 record.
Georgia is 8-5 against the Tigers in Athens and has won seven of the 10 meetings overall in the series.
