Whitney Cothran
Miss Columbus
This Franklin native attends the University of Alabama. Whitney would like to make Miss America a more relevant figure to her peers by bringing Miss America to more youth focused shows like “American Idol”. She would also like to implement mandatory hearing and vision screenings for all children. Whitney is working to bring the hearing and vision problems to the attention of parents, administrators, and educators. Her personal experience inspired her to bring this problem to light. Whitney went through ten years of school before her need for hearing aids was realized.
Whitney, I am so proud of you! You are such a lovely young lady. You have touched so many lives. Columbus should be very proud to have you representing them in the Miss Georgia Pageant. Although you have had such a tramatic week with the fire at your home, you have kept the faith and that is all you need to get you through the tough times.
