Kellen Cooper
Miss Albany

Kellen is working to establish literacy as a value in every American family. In her hometown of Albany, she established “First Books” in association with the “Dolly Parton Imagination Library”. Through this partnership, each participating child from birth to age 5 receives a book a month at no charge. Kellen hopes to put her literacy skills to the test someday as a news anchor. She also founded “Flip Flops for Freedom”, which provides footwear to Iraqi children. So far, Kellen has shipped over 1000 pairs of shoes to Iraq.

Great cause, literacy is very important, and its very good that kids learn the importance of books.

Sweet Kellen,
Good Luck tonight!  We’re praying for you to win- but just like we told Kelly Bradshaw - sometimes there are better things waiting for you.
Kelly’s career has gone much further than last year’s Miss GA winner!
You’re future is bright and beautiful! Enjoy every day!

Dear Kellen,

I am sooooo proud of you and know that you will have a wonderful experience at the pageant.  No matter what happens, you are already a winner!

Your Mom has been my dear friend since birth - and that’s a long time! - and having known her my entire life, I never expected anything from you (and Caitlyn) that was less than remarkable.  And you have lived up to those expectations in every regard.  What a wonderful young woman you have become.

I so admire your focus not only on the ‘what’ you wanted to accomplish but also the ‘how’.  Please continue to remember that the way you conduct yourself - as much as what you achieve - is the legacy you leave behind.

I have always considered you and Caitlyn the daughters that I never had and I must admit that I have bragged about you all week.  You now have more fans in Atlanta than Miss Atlanta does!  I’m sorry that we can’t be there with you but remember - as I always tell your Mother - it’s what’s in the heart that matters… and you are truly in ours.

Hugs, kisses and best wishes for a wonderful pageant!

All my love,
Kris

Good Morning! I can still remember you walking down the isle at your mom and Scott’s wedding. Thinking, “Isn’t she darling!“ You have certainly changed from “darling” to a beautiful, kind and intelligent woman. Your mom told me your interview is today. I imagine you are hoping for a very worldly/political question…I would hope they ask me, “What is your favorite dessert?“
Enjoy your day.
Love, Susan
